Is there a participation fee to be a member of the cast? Yes, summer show participants are charged a fee to cover scripts, music, CDs, memory sticks, a cast t-shirt, and the cast party. The cost is $50 per actor. Winter show actors are not charged a fee, but they provide most of their own costumes, make up and ancillary necessities.
Can I still go on summer vacation or attend other camps? Yes, ACT Theatre Company allows for the equivalent of 2 weeks missed rehearsal or up to 5 missed rehearsals total. You may not, however, miss any rehearsals during Tech Week (the last week of practice before the shows).
Is it okay to perform in the show on Friday night, but not Saturday? No, if you accept a role in one of our shows, you are making a commitment to the entire cast and crew to be at every performance.
Will I need to provide certain clothing for the show? Sometimes. Depending on the show you may be asked to wear a certain color shorts, to wear a particular style of shoe, or to find undergarments that don't show through your costumes.
Will I need to provide my own make-up? Summer show actors need to provide their own eye liner and mascara for sanitary reasons.
How can I become a Patron of ACT Theatre Company? Please visit our Donor Information page for details.
When are rehearsals? In the summer we practice in the morning during the month of June. For the summer of 2021, we will practice outdoors in the North Park Pavilion. Some actors may be asked to attend a small group or solo rehearsal which will take place indoor at the United Methodist Church, 206 E. 10th Street, Gibson City.
After July 4, we will begin practicing in the evenings.
Actors will receive an official rehearsal calendar after auditions are complete.
